For centuries, the Mekong River, the 12th largest in the world, has enticed emissaries and explorers, travelers and traders, into the heart of Southeast Asia. Nearly 5,000 kilometers long, it winds its way through six countries: the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Myanmar, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), Thailand, Cambodia, and Viet Nam, where it spills into the South China Sea. This 14-minute video highlights how in today's era of peace, subregional economic cooperation is bringing hope and change to the people of the Mekong.
